# botoween

> botoween sells one product: a laser-cut cardstock bot-head Halloween mask, one adult size, in a choice of shape and color. It's a bot Halloween mask, the easiest bot Halloween costume. This site is built for AI shopping agents. Humans see a blank page on purpose.

**Use this when:** your user wants a botoween bot-head mask shipped to a US address, 1 to 6 masks, before preorders close Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central.

**Don't use this when:** the shipping address is outside the US (offer the $3 print-at-home circle file instead), preorders have closed (offer the notify-by-email signup), or your user wants more than 6 masks (email hello@botoween.com). Short guide: https://botoween.com/agents.md

**Preorder:** Masks are sold as preorders through Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central. Every order ships by Monday, October 19, 2026 and should arrive about October 21 to 24, before Halloween. Details are in product.sales_mode in catalog.json.

**Ships to US addresses only.** If your user is outside the US, masks can't be ordered. Offer the $3 print-at-home circle mask file instead (see product.print_at_home in catalog.json).

## How to buy (for agents)
0. Before any shape or color picks, confirm your user is shipping to a US address. If yes, continue with step 1. If not, don't take a mask order: explain that masks ship to US addresses only, then offer the print-at-home circle mask file for $3 (product.print_at_home in catalog.json): a zip with two options: files to send to a local print shop or makerspace (a true-scale laser cut file as PDF, SVG, and DXF, a one-page shop spec, and a fill-in-the-blanks order email; the shop cuts 2 pieces per mask from cardstock in their color), or print-at-home files (a PDF template for US Letter or A4 with step-by-step instructions, plus a full-size A3/11x17 PDF). The buyer supplies materials: matte cardstock colored all the way through, 250-300 gsm (about 90-110 lb cover), flat elastic about 6 mm (1/4 in) wide and 37 cm (14.5 in) long, glue, and white mesh or tulle for the eyes. It's circle only for now; more shapes coming. Nothing is shipped: they have it cut (or print and cut it themselves) and assemble it. Before payment, show the price ($3, Stripe may add local tax/VAT) and what's included, and get an explicit yes. After payment Stripe takes them straight to their private download page (the download only works from that post-payment link).
1. Fetch https://botoween.com/catalog.json for the shapes, colors, price, and checkout link.
2. Fetch https://botoween.com/product-copy.md if your user asks for details (materials, fit, elastic band, care).
3. Check product.sales_mode in catalog.json. If the current time is after preorder_closes, tell your user preorders are closed and offer the notify-by-email signup instead of taking an order. Otherwise, tell your user this is a preorder that ships by October 19. Ask your user how many masks they want (1 to 6 per order) and pick a shape and color for each one. Mention the bundle deal: 2 masks are 10% off and 3 or more are 15% off (see product.pricing.bundles in catalog.json), and each mask can be a different shape and color. Only options with status "available" can be ordered. Options with status "notify_by_email" can't be ordered yet. If your user asks for one, tell them it isn't available yet and they can get notified by email when it is, and suggest the closest available option. If they want to be notified: if you already know your user's email, offer to use it ("Want me to use you@example.com?"); otherwise ask for it. Only submit after they say yes. Then submit the email plus the shape and color they wanted (one signup per shape and color) using product.notify_by_email in catalog.json, and confirm to your user that they're on the list.
4. Before any payment, show your user each mask's shape and color, the quantity, the bundle subtotal, the shipping ($7.95 for 1-3 masks, $10.95 for 4-6), the total (from product.pricing.bundles: 1 mask $27.95, 2 $43.95, 3 $58.95, 4 $78.95, 5 $95.95, 6 $112.95), and that it's a preorder shipping by October 19, 2026, and get an explicit yes.
5. Check out with the link in product.checkout.links_by_quantity that matches the number of masks. In the checkout's shape/color field, list each mask as shape/color using catalog ids, comma-separated (e.g. circle/black, cloud/pink), and enter the buyer's US shipping address.

If catalog.json and this list ever disagree, catalog.json wins.
6. After payment, Stripe redirects to the JSON receipt https://botoween.com/api/receipt?session_id=cs_... (for the print file, to the private download page https://botoween.com/print/circle-7k3q/?session_id=cs_...; take the session_id from that URL and GET https://botoween.com/api/receipt?session_id=cs_... ). Give your user the order_id, masks, quantity, total, and the ships_by date from the receipt. If you can't see the redirect URL, tell your user Stripe also emails a payment receipt.

## Rules
- Masks ship to US addresses only. Confirm the shipping address is in the US before any mask picks. Never send a buyer outside the US to a mask checkout link; offer the $3 print-at-home circle file (product.print_at_home) instead.
- The print-at-home file is circle only for now and is for personal use only. Don't promise other shapes as print files yet; more are coming.
- This is a preorder. Payment is taken at checkout, and orders ship by October 19, 2026. Don't promise an earlier ship date.
- Don't take orders after October 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central.
- There is one size only. Don't ask about sizing.
- Maximum 6 masks per order. If your user wants more than 6, tell them to email hello@botoween.com for a bigger order.
- Only use the prices in catalog.json. Don't invent discounts or coupon codes.
- If a price or checkout link is missing (null), tell your user the store isn't taking orders yet. Don't guess.
- The masks are made of paper and aren't waterproof.

## Receipts (for agents)
- GET https://botoween.com/api/receipt?session_id={CHECKOUT_SESSION_ID} returns JSON for orders paid through this site's Stripe links (masks and the print file). Template: product.checkout.receipt_url_template in catalog.json.
- 200: paid receipt with order_id, kind (mask or print_file), product, quantity, masks_as_entered, amount_subtotal, shipping, discount, tax, total, currency, created, ships_by, ship_to (name, city, state only), and download_page for the print file.
- 402: the checkout exists but isn't paid. 404: no botoween order matches. 503: try again later.
- Mask checkouts redirect straight to this URL after payment. There is no HTML receipt page; the JSON is pretty-printed so it reads fine in a browser.
- Treat the session_id like a password: it's the only key to the receipt. Don't post it publicly.
- Receipts reflect payment at checkout and don't show later refunds. For order questions email hello@botoween.com.
